Project Return serves adolescent girls 14 - 18 years old who voluntarily choose to participate in a therapeutic group living environment. They come for a variety of reasons. Some need a transitional program following inpatient treatment for problems such as eating disorders, suicide attempts, depression and/or sexual or physical abuse. Others have experienced incredible loss such as the death of one or both parents.
Each adolescent girl has a unique story to tell. She comes to Project Return at a crossroads. Project Return carefully chooses those who are able to take responsibility for their life choices and have the courage to make positive internal changes despite the intensity of their pain. With the goal of independent living or reunification with family in mind, each girl works toward health by following a program that suits her individual needs. Families also come to Project Return at a crossroads. Often intact, loving families struggle as their teenage daughters move through adolescence.
All of the girls become temporary family members to each other. With the staff acting as therapeutic "parents," they are able to work through trials and traumatic events they've suffered, while simultaneously celebrating normal developmental milestones.
Aftercare is offered for all who have been through our program. This includes individual counseling, crisis intervention, support groups and financial assistance for special needs.
