Program Objectives
Project Return was established in 1986 to meet the specialized needs of adolescent girls in crisis. While each teen is unique and treatment plans reflect each girl's individual needs, the core values of the program emphasize:
- Development of self-awareness and insight
- Cultivation of a personalized vision of health and well-being
- Internalization of a sense of self that is purposeful, directed and responsible, and has respect for self and others.
- Utilization of critical thinking and thoughtful evaluation in decision making.
- Establishment of a sense of community and commitment to support fellow residents.
These goals are achieved by teaching basic skills in the area of communication, problem solving, negotiation, conflict resolution, self-care and impulse management. These behaviors are addressed and reinforced on a consistent, daily basis.
